Home charging is the most convenient way to own an electric vehicle-you start each day with a full charge. Here's what to know.

## Types of Chargers
Level 1 (standard outlet) is slowest: 2-5 miles per hour. It works anywhere but takes overnight for a full charge. Level 2 (240V) is the smart choice for home: 25-30 miles per hour, fully charging most vehicles overnight. DC fast-chargers are for road trips, not home.

## Installation Basics
You'll need a licensed electrician to install a 240V outlet and hardwired charger-don't DIY this. Most homes can handle it, though panel upgrades may be needed. Installation typically runs a few days. Check local permits and utility rebates first; some cover part of the cost.
